I don't want to drive up to the pearly gates in a shiny new sports car, wearing beautifully tailored clothes, my hair expertly coiffed, and with long, perfectly manicured fingernails. I want to drive up in a staion wagon that has mud on the wheels from taking kids to scout camp. I want to be there with a smudge of peanut butter on my shirt from making sandwiches for a sick neighbors children. I want to be there with a little dirt under my fingernails from helping weed someone's garden. I want to be there with children's sticky kisses on my cheeks and tears of a friend on my sholder. I want the Lord to know I was really here and that I really lived.

Portland Oregon

We went to Oregon for my Uncle Johns funereal.  His service was so beautiful and he will be missed!  I loved being able to catch up with my cousins.  while we were there we went to VooDoo Doughnuts.  This Doughnut shop was featured on Man vs. Food.  My families favorite was the Maple Bacon.  We waited in line for a 1 1/2 hours.

We had so much fun laughing and figuring out what to order.  They have some pretty crazy flavors and names.

Bridger's Baptism

My sweet little baby turned eight and got baptized.  What happened to the time.  I am so proud of Bridger for choosing the right and getting baptized.  He planned his program he wanted my brother and Jake my cousin to be his witnesses.  He ended up getting baptized twice because the first time his foot popped out of the water.  Of coarse he asked Warren to to baptize and confirm him.  While we were waiting for the boys to change I made a movie of Bridgers life that we could watch.  Warren gave him a beautiful blessing.  Bridger also wanted may dad to bear his testimony. My dad did such a great job he talked about how important it is to be baptized, that it keeps us safe.  Bridger was named after my Grandpa Dean, my dad also talked about how a few days before my grandpa passed away we were able to go to the hospital with my family and have the sacrament with my grandpa.  It was Christmas day.  My grandpa was able to bless and break the bread and water one last time.  We all remember how important it was for my grandpa to renew his baptismal covenants.  My grandpa always honored his priesthood and used it in his last few days.  He wanted to be safe and return to his Heavenly Father living his life the right way.  I know that my Grandpa is very proud of Bridger.  After my dad bore his testimony Bridger bore his.  He did such a great job.  He said that he knows he is a child of God and that Jesus died for him.  That Joseph Smith read the Book of Mormon and that the church is the true church on the earth.  That he knows that President Monson is a true prophet.  Bishop Bangerter told Bridger that in ten years he could see Bridger on a street corner bearing his testimony on his mission.  Then Grandpa Mike gave a closing prayer.  It was such a neat day I will never forget the feelings I had watching my son choose the right and make covenants with his heavenly Father and bearing his testimony.  I am truly a blessed girl.  I love my family so much!

Fall Leaves

We had so much fun on our Sunday drive.  The leaves are so beautiful.  I think the best part of driving around is that your kids just open up and tell you everything.  They can ask you questions and you can express your feeeling so easily.   Some of our best times are driving in the car.
